Location
Caval Ridge Mine is an open cut mine located in Queensland, Australia. Caval Ridge Mine is situated in the northern section of the Bowen Basin, approximately 6km south-east of Moranbah and 160km south-west of Mackay. Travel options are available on a flexible 4 days on, 3 days off roster.
Overburden removal and coal mining are the two main components of open cut mining operations at Caval Ridge, with an on-site CHPP to process the coal. Waste movement at the Caval Ridge Mine is excavated using dragline and truck & shovel fleets. The CHPP includes a run-of-mine (ROM) dump station, coal receiving and sizing facility and tailings filter station.

About the Role
We have multiple roles available, one managing the site’s major stripping Contractor Management obligations for Caval Ridge Mine, through actively managing, monitoring and supporting contractor performance and being able to identify and implement initiatives that improve safety, production and cost outcomes. Additionally, this role will form the critical link to ensure synergies across all departments in relation to contracts. The other opportunities are either managing the Dragline or BMA Prestrip fleets across Caval Ridge Mine.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Audit and enforce compliance with the site’s Contractor Management obligations;
- Attend stakeholder meetings to ensure the performance & commercial objectives are met;
- Produce & analyse contractor performance reports, updated costs & forecasts;
- Ensure correct commercial engagement of contractors & subcontractors;
- Manage contract initiation, scope development, implementation for site;
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with & the continual improvement of the Mine Operating Systems.

- Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team;
- Facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of common standards including improvements to processes and systems;

- You will have experience in relationship management focused roles with a demonstrated understanding of the mechanics of service contracts and the demonstrated experience in the management of contractors, within mining or similar industries.
